Observability of the Higgs boson decay to a photon and a dark photon (remote) 25m

Many collider searches have attempted to detect the Higgs boson decaying to a photon and an invisible massless dark photon. For the branching ratio to this channel to be realistically observable at the LHC, there must exist new mediators that interact with both the standard model and the dark photon. In this talk, we present experimental and theoretical constraints on an extensive set of mediator models. We show that these constraints limit the Higgs branching ratio to a photon and a dark photon to be far smaller than the current sensitivity of collider searches.

Probing the dark photon in collinear dark matter splitting 25m

The dark shower is a common phenomenon for particles in the dark sector which take part in strong interactions and are boosted. We first discuss the detection prospect of accelerated DM through cosmic ray upscattering at the XENON1T and Super-K experiments. We emphasize that the radiated dark photon from the boosted DM can possibly be probed at the DUNE and JUNO experiments. In the second part, we discuss the indirect detection of two-component secluded DM models. Considering the dark shower effects, the models can induce remarkable signals at the AMS-02 and Fermi-LAT experiments.

Detecting Dark Photons with Superconducting Radio-Frequency (SRF) Cavities 25m

Dark photons are well-motivated hypothetical gauge particles of a hidden U(1) symmetry, which is an extension of the standard model. As ultralight bosons, dark photons can either constitute wavelike dark matter candidates, or form a relativistic background through the decay from dark matter. Through the kinetic mixing with electromagnetic photons, dark photons can induce an effective current in an SRF cavity, which will be significantly amplified because of the extremely high quality factor of SRF cavities. We conducted the first scan search for dark photon dark matter with SRF cavities, and got the most stringent limit in most of the exclusion parameter space. The dataset can also be used to constrain the relativistic dark photon background through the signal modulation arising from the Earth rotation. We also propose a multi-mode system that can enhance the sensitivity of the off-resonance region and significantly boost the scan search of dark photons. Such a system is compatible with any resonant search with electromagnetic systems for dark photons, axions and gravitational waves, and can possibly realize simultaneous resonant and broadband detection.
