The International Conference on Instrumentation for Colliding Beam Physics (INSTR 2026) will be held at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in Hefei, China, from October 12 to 16, 2026. The INSTR series is a major international instrumentation conference that typically takes place on a triennial basis, alternating with two other prestigious international instrumentation conferences: the Vienna Conference on Instrumentation (VCI) and the Pisa Meeting on Advanced Detectors (ELBA). Its overall objective is to review the current status and recent progress in instrumentation for colliding-beam experiments and related fields, and to foster collaboration in the particle and nuclear physics communities. The conference also explores cross-disciplinary scientific applications of the instrumentation technologies in colliding-beam experiments that may lead to transformative new technologies.
This edition of the INSTR conference focuses on the frontiers of instrumentation for colliding-beam experiments, with particular emphasis on future colliders. The topics covered include collider–detector integration, tracking and vertex detectors, particle identification, calorimetry, muon detectors, electronics, as well as trigger and data acquisition systems.
